Beyond the Blue is a book about environmental issues related to the sea. Each chapter is introduced by a distinct color chip that shows a different face of the ocean. A green chip stands for a healthy sea forest, while a red chip refers to a sea darkened by whale blood. The pages are produced with a laser engraving machine and paint. The choice of materials refers to ancient Chinese culture, which was recorded on bamboo, wood and bronze, the same materials linked to early tea culture.
